A 35-year-old Maths teacher from the United States of America's Texas changed his name to "Literally Anybody Else" and announced his bid as an independent candidate for the US Presidential elections slated to be held in November 2024. Formerly known as Dustin Ebey, a US Army veteran from Dallas' North Richard Hills, changed his name as he thought that there should be some outlet for people like him who are "fed up with the constant power grab" between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.

He stated that his new name isn't merely a name but a "rally cry" against the two presidential candidates who some people think shpuld not secure another tenure at the White House, the Guardian reported.

Surprisingly, he also has a Texas driver's license which proves that he has changed his name. According to the report, he was unsatisfied with this year's presidential candidates, Trump and Biden, which led him to take this step. Hitting out at the two of them, he stated "Three hundred million people can do better."

"There really should be some outlet for people like me who are just so fed up with this constant power grab between the two parties that just has no benefit to the common person. It’s not necessarily about me as a person, but it’s about literally anybody else as an idea," news outlet WFAA quoted him saying.

In order to get his new name on ballots, Else needs 11,300 signatures from non-primary voters in Texas by May. He is aware that it is unlikely to achieve this target, and thus he is campaigning to get people to write in his name, the Guardian reported.

“We don’t have a ‘neither’ option on the ballot, and this kind of fills that role,” he added.

He also has a website by his name which states: "Literally Anybody Else isn't a person, it's a rally cry."

"For too long have Americans been a victim of its political parties putting party loyalty over governance. Together let's send the message to Washington. 'You will represent or be replaced'. America should not be stuck choosing between the 'King of Debt' (his self-declaration) and an 81-year-old," the website states.

The website also urges people to join the movement and calls his campaign a "beacon of hope and innovation."

His Facebook page introduction states: "Tired of the same old choices? Put 'Literally Anybody Else' on the Ballot 2024!"

He has filed his nomination papers with the Federal Election Commission and is working on garnering the required signatures to be included on the state's ballot for the November presidential elections, WFAA news reported.

As per WFAA's report, he also stressed that he was "not delusional."

"This will be very hard to do, but it's not impossible. My hope is to have Donald Trump, Joe Biden, and then Literally Anybody Else right underneath," he stated.

"I really want there to be an outlet for folks like me who are just so fed up with this constant power grab between two parties that has no benefit for the common person," WFAA reported him saying.

As per reports, he also stressed how people should have an option of voting for someone who resembles them, instead of choosing the "lesser of the two evils."
