Three members of a family from Telangana, including a 6-year-old, died in a road accident in Florida, United States. The family was returning home after a weekend trip when their car collided with another killing Pragathi Reddy, 35, her son, 6, and her mother-in-law Sunitha, 56.


According to IANS, the two women and the minor died on the spot while Pragati’s husband Rohith Reddy, who was driving the car and his younger son escaped with minor injuries. According to The Times Of India report, the accident occurred at 2:50 pm local time between Kenansville Road and Yates Ranch Road.


As per The Times Of India (TOI), the SUV, the Reddy family was travelling in, veered off the road and overturned after a head-on collision with another car. The local police alerted relatives and friends of the victims in the US.


Pragathi Reddy is the second daughter of Mohan Reddy, a former representative of the local body in Tekulapalli and former sarpanch Pavitra Devi belonging to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). She was married to Rohith Reddy of Siddipet, who was employed in the US. The couple had two sons together, and Sunitha, Rohith's mother was also staying with them.

Last Rites To Be Held In Florida


Mohan Reddy and his wife are travelling to the United States, where the last rites of the deceased will be performed in Florida, family members told IANS.


"My daughter went to the US in 2012 and did her MS there. We got information at 4 AM today that a vehicle on the wrong route hit the car in which our family was travelling, leading to their spot death. I don't have more details about the accident. My son-in-law and my eight-month-old grandson survived," Mohan Reddy, told the mediapersons.


BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao expressed shock over the tragic death of three family members in a US road accident, reported IANS. He extended condolences to the bereaved family and wished Rohith Reddy and his younger son a speedy recovery.
