Islamabad: The mysterious death of a Pakistani Hindu girl - Nimrita Kumari has triggered a massive outrage in Pakistan and former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has joined the online campaign to demand justice for the final year medical student.

The former Pakistan speedster took to Twitter hoped the real culprits behind the death of the medical student are nabbed soon."Extremely sad & hurt sad reading about the suspicious death of young innocent girl, Nimrita Kumari. I hope the justice is served and the real culprits are found. My heart beats with every Pakistani no matter what faith he/she belongs to. Rest in Peace. #JusticeForNimrita."

Reports say Nimrita had appeared in an exam just a day earlier before she was found dead in her hostel room at the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) in Larkana, Sindh.

Local police have launched an investigation and the university has sent a detailed report to the Sindh Chief Minister, who has promised a free and fair probe into her death.

Nimrita's brother Vishal and family have alleged foul play and believe Kumari was murdered. "She had distributed sweets just two hours before her death. How can she commit suicide?, said Vishal.

Her body was handed over to her family.

Vishal demanded a post-mortem be conducted by a private hospital and appealed for speedy justice.

As per media reports, Nimrita Kumari belonged to Mirpur Mathelo, a taluka in Ghotki district of Sindh. She was the daughter of an affluent trader.

“Case of Nimirta isn't Suicide at All  she is belonging to Highly Rich & well educated family ,  Snatching Own life isn't easy such As ...  And Symbol and Mark on throat isn't showing its suicide ....  It's purely case of Blackmail and Harrassment , and Murder #JusticeForNimirta,”Basit Ali, a Twitter user wrote.

“The culprit must be hanged. No tolerance for killing minorities. Muslims as majority population should protect them,” said Nawab Khan, another Twitter user.
