New Delhi: As Ukraine's invasion continued for the second day on Friday, Russian forces closed in on country's capital Kyiv in an attempt to replace Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy with a Kremlin-friendly regime.
Meanwhile, India, which is on its toes to evacuate around 16,000 stranded nationals, mostly students, is working out evacuation plans through Romania, Hungary and Poland, after Ukraine shut its airspace after insurgance from Russia on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the pre-dawn explosions rocked Kyiv and gunfire was reported in parts of the city. Horrified civilians found themselves at risk as artillery shells rained down on some residential buildings on Kyiv's outskirts.
