New Delhi: As the Russian invasion in Ukraine entered its fifth day on Monday, Russia has banned all its residents from transferring money abroad, as news agency AFP quoted Kremlin.
Apart from this, in a retaliatory move, Russia has closed its airspace for 36 countries including Germany, Spain, Italy, and Canada. This move by Russia came after several Western nations had shut their skies for Russian controlled or owned aircrafts.
Russia had already banned airlines from the United Kingdom to fly in or over the region following Britain’s decision to stop Russian airline Aeroflot from landing in the UK.
List of 36 countries that Russia has closed its airspace for are: Albania, Anguilla, Austria, Belgium, British Virgin Islands, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark (including Greenland, the Faroe Islands), Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Jersey, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, UK.

On Monday, Russia’s Defence Ministry said that its nuclear missile forces as well as its Northern and Pacific fleets were placed on increased combat duty, in line with President Vladimir Putin’s directive, the day before, reported news agency Interfax.
Meanwhile, in Ukraine, the regional governor in Kharkiv said that Russian shelling has killed at least 11 civilians in the second largest city. United Kingdom President Boris Johnson condemned “barbaric” Russian airstrikes against Ukrainian civilians.
