New Delhi: Just before Russia and Ukraine hold talks to end the ongoing conflict, Russian offensive in Ukraine including capital Kyiv has slowed down.
"The Russian occupiers have reduced the pace of the offensive, but are still trying to develop success in some areas," the Ukrainian military was quoted by news agency AFP.
Amid slowing of offensive, the Russian army has also allowed civilians to freely leave capital city Kyiv, AFP further reported.
Meanwhile, the Ukranian delegation arrived in Belarus on Monday for talks with their Russian counterparts.
The negotiation between both the countries will be first attempt to end conflict since Russia started its invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
The Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky agreed upon holding talks with Russian and sending a delegation to Belarus on grounds that it will be "without preconditions".
He also spoke to President Aleksandr G Lukashenko of Belarus, who assured him of security during the talks.
While making the announcement on his official Telegram channel Zelensky said, "We agreed that the Ukrainian delegation would meet with the Russian delegation without preconditions on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, near the Pripyat River."
According to the Interior Ministry of Ukraine 352 civilians, including 14 children have lost their lives in Russian invasion, while 1,684 people, including 116 children, have been wounded.
