Rafale Sets New Record, Flies Non-Stop For 17000 kilometers In 12 Hours

The Rafale fighter jet keeps displaying its dynamic features from time to time. Equipped with special firepower, Rafale on Friday covered a distance of 17000 kilometers without stopping in just 12 hours.

Rafale fighter jet has set a new record of flying 17000 kilometers in 12 hours without stopping, breaking its previous record. French Army Air-to-Air Refueling Operator Maj. Pierrick has said that France is the first country in Europe to have set this record.

This French fighter aircraft covered a distance of 17000 km in 12 hours during its journey to the airbase located in the Pacific Ocean. Before this, no Rafale aircraft has been able to travel this distance without stopping.

Earlier, the Rafale aircraft has covered a distance of 6700 km from France to India without stopping. India has purchased 36 Rafale fighter jets from France, and 21 of them have reached India. 

Europe's First Plane To Fly Continuously For 12 Hours

The French Air Force's air-to-air refueling operator Major Pierrick said that three Rafale aircraft set a new record by flying 12 hours non-stop.

The Rafale planes have covered this distance while flying from California to reach the French airbase Tahiti located in the South Pacific Ocean.

During the flight, the Rafale aircraft refueled 7 times in the air. Major Pierrick said that Rafale is Europe's first fighter jet to fly continuously for 12 hours. 

Record Flight Of Three Rafale Planes

According to French media, 7 aircraft of the French Air Force, including 3 Rafale fighter jets, had taken off from France to go to Tahiti. In the first flight, the aircraft reached the airbase in California, USA.

In the second flight from the USA, the aircraft made a safe landing in Tahiti, setting a record. During this record flight of 15 hours, air to air refueling was done 7 times in the Rafale fighter aircraft. 

Rafale Demand Increases

The demand for Rafale fighter aircraft has increased in the world. Many countries have bought aircraft from Dassault, the manufacturers of Rafale. India has signed a deal to buy 36 Rafale aircraft in 2016.

Of these, 21 aircraft have been received by India. Recently, an agreement has been signed with Croatia to buy 12 Rafale multi-role fighter aircraft for $ 1.2 billion.

Earlier, France had signed a $4.5 billion deal for 30 Rafale aircraft to Egypt. France has sold 12 Rafale to Greece. Dassault has announced to produce an F-5 variant of Rafale jets. By 2030 Dassault will upgrade this aircraft to the F-5 variant of Rafale with an array of advanced features and stealth capability. Due to its many features, this aircraft has become the favourite fighter jet among the armies of the world.
