New Delhi: Prince Philip, The Duke Of Edinburgh and the husband of Queen Elizabeth II passed away yesterday (April 9, 2021). Prince Philip breathed his last at the Windsor Castle at the age of 99. He was married to the Queen for 73 years. Though the reason for his death has not been yet revealed, the Duke Of Edinburgh passed away two months before his 100th birthday on June 10.
The death of Prince Philip was declared with a post from the official Twitter handle of the Royal Family. The post read, “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.”
As soon as the news of Prince Philip’s death broke out, Harry and Meghan released a two-line message on Archewell website which read, “Thank you for your services... You will be greatly missed.”
While many people appreciated this gesture, the comment did not go down well with a section of people as they started slamming Harry and Meghan for releasing a short statement on Prince Philip’s death.
Take a look at some of them here:
Meanwhile, according to a report in the Mirror, Harry is planning to return to Britain for his grandfather’s funeral. Meghan will not be joining him as she is pregnant with the couple’s second child. This will be the first time Harry will meet his family after quitting royal life and the controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey last month.
