Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a detailed conversation with US President Joe Biden on Monday, reaffirming the robust India-US partnership. The leaders exchanged views on several regional and global issues, including the situation in Ukraine and Bangladesh, during the phone call.
"Spoke to @POTUS @JoeBiden on phone today. We had a detailed exchange of views on various regional and global issues, including the situation in Ukraine. I reiterated India’s full support for early return of peace and stability," PM Modi shared on X (formerly Twitter).
The discussion extended to Bangladesh, where the leaders underscored the urgency of restoring normalcy and ensuring the safety and security of minorities, particularly Hindus. "We also discussed the situation in Bangladesh and stressed on the need for early restoration of normalcy, and ensuring the safety and security of minorities, especially Hindus, in Bangladesh," PM Modi added.

PM Modi, US President Biden Review Progress In Bilateral Relations
According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), PM Modi conveyed his appreciation for US President Biden’s steadfast commitment to the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. The partnership is based on shared values of democracy, rule of law, and strong people-to-people ties, it noted.
"The leaders reviewed the significant progress in bilateral relations and highlighted that India-US partnership is aimed at benefiting the people of both countries as well as the entire humanity," the PMO stated. They also committed to further strengthening cooperation in multilateral fora, including the Quad.
PM Modi briefed US President Biden on his recent visit to Ukraine, reiterating India's consistent stance favouring dialogue and diplomacy, and expressed full support for the early return of peace and stability in the region.
Both leaders expressed their shared concern over the developments in Bangladesh, "The two leaders expressed their shared concern over the situation in Bangladesh. They emphasised restoration of law and order and ensuring safety and security of the minorities, particularly Hindus, in Bangladesh", as per the PMO.
