PM Modi In Russia: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a two-day official visit to Russia, met President Vladimir Putin on Monday at the Novo-Ogaryovo residence of the President of Russia near Moscow. The two leaders held an informal meeting at the Russian President's residence. 


According to the Russian Embassy, the talks between the two leaders covered prospects for further development of traditionally friendly Russian-Indian relations as well as current international and regional issues: Russia in India.






On Monday, Putin welcomed PM Modi at his official residence and praised him for the work he has done for the country's progress.


“I would like to congratulate you on your reelection as prime minister. I think this is not an accident, but the result of your work over many years,” Putin told Modi during the informal meeting.


“You have your own ideas. You are a very energetic person, able to achieve results in the interests of India and the Indian people,” Putin said. “The result is obvious.” “India firmly ranks as the world’s third-largest economy,” Putin was quoted as saying by the state-run Tass news agency.


The Russian President said that PM Modi has devoted his entire life to serving his people, and they can feel it. During the informal meeting over a cup of tea, PM Modi recollected the recent elections, saying that “the people of India gave him a chance to serve the motherland.”


“You have devoted your entire life to serving the Indian people, and they can feel it,” Putin responded. “You are right, I have only one goal: it is the people and my country,” the prime minister said with a smile, PTI reported, citing the Tass. Later, Putin and PM Modi took a stroll around Putin’s residence in Novo-Ogaryovo.
