New Delhi: A Pakistani woman was arrested on Sunday in Islamabad, for allegedly threatening and abusing police officials who were assigned duty at the entrance to the Diplomatic Enclave in Islamabad, Pakistani media reported. The arrest was made after a video went viral on social media in the country showing the enraged lady screaming her lungs out at the officials. She not only yelled at them but also abused them and threatened them for not allowing her entry in the Diplomatic Enclave.

The cops reportedly stopped the woman’s vehicle as its registration plate was missing. The woman accused the officials of misbehaving with her, though in the video the woman is clearly seen misbehaving and hurling expletives at them.

The Diplomatic Enclave is a high-security area in Islamabad where foreign diplomatic missions and government buildings are located.

Soon after the incident, the police reportedly registered a case against the woman and arrested her. Subsequently, she was sent to jail on judicial remand.

The Express Tribune quoted Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi as saying: “VIP culture will not be tolerated in ‘Naya Pakistan’. Everyone is equal in the eye of the law.” He ordered an enquiry into the matter.
