New Delhi: Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan expressed shock in learning about the plane crash near Karachi airport. Khan expressed his condolence to the families of the victims via a tweet and also informed that he is in touch with the CEO of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). Khan has also written in his tweet that an immediate inquiry will be done on the incident.

He also wrote that ‘Am in touch with PIA CEO Arshad Malik, who has left for Karachi & with the rescue & relief teams on ground as this is the priority right now. Immediate inquiry will be instituted. Prayers & condolences go to families of the deceased.


A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane with 107 people on board crashed in a residential area near the Karachi Airport on Friday. The aircraft had 99 passengers and 8 crew members. Reports say PK8303 was a special flight run for Eid by the airline amid Coronavirus pandemic.

The plane which was flying from Lahore to Karachi was about to land when it crashed in Model colony near Karachi airport. Reports say that the plane developed a technical snag due to which it came crashing down. Several videos has been shared on social media which shows smoke rising from the crash site which appears to be a high-density residential area.
