Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan announced the birth of their third daughter on Friday.

"Welcome to the world, Aurelia Chan Zuckerberg! You're such a little blessing," the couple wrote on Facebook.

In 2015 and 2017, Zuckerberg and his former Harvard University classmate had children Max, 7, and August, 5, respectively.

The entrepreneur, 38, addressed the children in an Instagram post announcing his 38-year-old wife's pregnancy in September 2022.

"Lots of love," Zuckerberg captioned a happy photo of himself with his palm on Chan's growing abdomen.

"We're excited to announce that Max and August will get a new baby sister next year!"

The pair met at a frat party in 2003 while waiting in line for the restroom.

"He was this nerdy guy who was just a little bit out there," Chan joked in 2010 to the New Yorker about Zuckerberg's "nerdy, computer-science charm."

In 2014, the physician told "Today" programme co-hosts that the emotion "appalled" "the type-A first child."

The pair married in 2012, and five years later, in a commencement speech at their alma institution, Zuckerberg named Chan the "most significant" aspect of his life.

The doctor struggled to conceive and had three miscarriages while attempting to establish a family.

In a 2015 Facebook post, Zuckerberg described the pregnancy losses as "a lonely experience."

As his family grew, he told students at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University that parenting had transformed him in a "very dramatic way."

"My family is the thing I'm most proud of and the thing that provides me the most happiness," Zuckerberg said in 2017.
