NEW DELHI: As Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan laid the foundation stone for the Kartarpur corridor linking Gurdwara Darbar Sahib on the other side of the border, pro-Khalistan leader Gopal Chawla, a close aide of Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed, was also seen attending the ceremony. Gopal Chawla also met Pakistan Army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa at the ground breaking ceremony of the Kartartpur corridor.

Chawla is the General Secretary of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC) of Pakistan and was often seen with Hafiz Saeed, a UN-designated terrorist and a co-founder of militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The initial probe in the recent grenade blast in Amritsar had revealed the attacks was the handiwork of a pro-Khalistan group with the backing of Pakistan's Inter-State Intelligence (ISI). The conspiracy was hatched in Lahore, with ISI colluding with Khalistan Liberation Force, a pro-Khalistan extremist group, in the "terrorist act".

Three people including a preacher were killed and over 20 injured when two-motorcycle borne men threw a grenade on a religious congregation on the outskirts of Amritsar last week.

The terror outfits in Pakistan work under the patronage of the country’s intelligence agencies, including the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), to malign India’s image.

They use these outfits to wage a proxy war against India and create troubles within the country
