A car collided with a motorcade SUV that was part of US President Joe Biden's security detail on Sunday in Delaware. The incident occurred after President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden had left the campaign headquarters following a meal with members of his re-election team.

According to a Reuters report, television footage showed Secret Service agents escorting Biden to his car after the impact.

The car, which sustained damage to its bumper, was quickly surrounded by police.

The sequence of events unfolded as President Biden was walking from the campaign office to his waiting armored SUV. During this time, a sedan collided with a US Secret Service vehicle, used to secure and close off intersections near the headquarters for the president's departure. But the sedan attempted to proceed into a closed-off intersection. In response, Secret Service personnel swiftly surrounded the vehicle, drawing weapons, and instructing the driver to raise their hands.

Following the collision, security officers promptly surrounded the vehicle. Biden was ushered into his waiting vehicle, where his wife was already seated, before being driven swiftly back to their home. His schedule was otherwise unaffected by the incident, according to the Associated Press report.
