Israel-Hamas War: The Pentagon has said that it was assessing the nature of the Hamas attack on Israel and is closely looking at whether Iran is linked to it in any way. Addressing the media, Pentagon Press Secretary Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said that so far, the information does not show any direct link between Iran and Hamas' October 7 attack, adding that they are keeping an eye on the same.

"We're continuing to assess the nature of these attacks, and that's something that we will continue to look very closely...At this point, the information that we have does not show a direct connection to the Hamas attacks on October 7 as it relates to Iran...: Ryder said on Thursday.

"We do know, as you've heard others say, that Iran has a significant relationship with Hamas in terms of funding, training, and support and in that regard, they certainly bear some responsibility, but again, no direct linkage to these attacks. We'll continue to keep an eye on that," he added.

This comes as US President Joe Biden reaffirmed America's unwavering support to Israel in its action against the Palestinian terrorist group in the Gaza Strip during his visit to the Jewish nation. "In the wake of Hamas appalling terror assaults, brutal, inhuman...I want you to know you are not alone," Biden said, adding "We will continue to have Israel's back as you work to defend your people."

Earlier, speaking exclusively to ABP LIVE, Ambassador of Israel to India Naor Gilon said that the attack by Hamas against Israel is the "worse attack ever since the Holocaust".

"We live in violence in Israel … But what happened on October 7 was something of a different magnitude. This was ISIS. The kind of operation, brutality … We are speaking of 1400 deaths, we are speaking of more than 200 kidnapped, more than 3000 wounded, so far more than 6500 rockets have been shot at Israel … This is a game changer and the reaction of Israel will also be a game changer, in the sense that we will stop at nothing short of depriving Hamas-ISIS of executing something of that magnitude in the coming future. So it is going to be different," the Israeli envoy said.
