Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the latest Israel-Hamas war is a result of failed U.S. foreign policy. Speaking at the start of his talks with visiting Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Al-Sudani, Putin said in his first comment on the war that “many will agree with me that this is a vivid example of the failure of the U.S. policies in the Middle East”, AP reported.
He added that the U.S. has “tried to monopolize the settlement, but, regrettably hasn’t bothered to search for compromises that would be acceptable to both parties and, just the opposite, sought to enforce their own view of how it should be done, exerting pressure on both parties.”
Putin said the U.S. has failed “to take vital interests of the Palestinian people into account,” ignoring U.N. General Assembly resolutions envisaging the creation of an independent Palestinian state.
As per AFP, he also asserted that creation of an 'independent sovereign' Palestinian state is a 'necessity'.
“I will just remind your audience that in 2005, Israel left the Gaza strip. We took out the soldiers, we took out the people who were living there, we dismantled the temples, we dismantled burial grounds, we took everything out and left Gaza. In 2006, Hamas, the terror organisation, took control of Gaza and since 2006 the terror group is saying that they want to destroy Israel, Israel should not be here, we want to kill Jews, we want to kill Israelis. And since 2006, they have been supplied, they have been trained, they have been funded by the likes of regimes like Iran who also have the goal of destroying Israel,” Consul General of Israel, Tammy Ben-Haim tells PTI.

Israel's Channel 12 reports Israel has told Egypt it will bomb trucks carrying supplies into Gaza.
The death toll in Gaza increased to 765, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza informed Tuesday, further stating that 4,000 other people have been injured, CNN reported.
This comes as Israel Defense Forces spokesman Jonathan Conricus informed that the bodies of approximately 1,500 Hamas attackers have been recovered inside Israel since the Islamist group's surprise attack, as per CNN.
Four French citizens were among those killed in the Hamas attacks in Israel, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed in a statement Tuesday, CNN reported.
Thirteen more are also reported missing, and the ministry stated that it has no information on their whereabouts. The statement added the situation is "very worrying" as some of those unaccounted for have “very probably been kidnapped.”

The United Nations health agency says the medical supplies that it had pre-positioned in seven hospitals in Gaza have already been exhausted, as needs balloon in the wake of Israel’s military strike against the militant group Hamas, AP reported.
"We are facing a brutal war here in Gaza, as everything is being bombarded and destroyed within seconds. We are paying the price of this conflict, with civilians being targeted everywhere. I have two families who ran away from their homes along with me. A day after Hamas militants threatened to execute civilian captives if Israel targets Gaza without warning, an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson said Tuesday that killing hostages "will not make things better."
"If they harm one of these grandmothers or one of these babies or one of these children, it will not make things better and they know it," IDF spokesperson Lt. Col. Richard Hecht said, as quoted by CNN.

Nearly a thousand have died while more than 2,000 were injured following a mass invasion of Hamas militants into Israeli territories. Palestinian officials reported that more than 300 people have been killed in Gaza.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said his Security Cabinet has declared the country at war following a deadly Hamas assault in southern Israel.
The decision, announced on Sunday, formally authorises “the taking of significant military steps,” it said in a statement. “The war that was forced on the State of Israel in a murderous terrorist assault from the Gaza Strip began at 06:00 yesterday,” it said.
Israel's military, which faces questions over its failure to prevent the attack, said it had regained control of most infiltration points, killed hundreds of attackers, and taken dozens more prisoner but was still fighting in some places.
It said it had deployed tens of thousands of soldiers in the area surrounding Gaza, a narrow strip that is home to 2.3 million Palestinians, and planned to evacuate all Israelis living around the frontier of the territory.
As a retaliatory step, Israel has cut all electricity supplies to Gaza on Sunday following an order from the prime minister's office. Even before the recent events, Gaza residents have been suffering from a growing electricity crisis. Meanwhile, Hamas and the smaller Islamic Jihad group claimed to have taken captive more than 130 people from inside Israel and brought them into Gaza, reported BBC. They said they would be traded for the release of thousands of Palestinians imprisoned by Israel.
