Israel’s Kibbutz Be’eri, locality near Gaza border, was turned into a killing field due to the horrific atrocities committed by the terrorist group Hamas amid the ongoing conflict with the war-torn country. In a video shared by the news agency ANI, bullet-riddled walls and shattered panes can be seen, along with gutted cars, which happened due to the surprise Hamas attack on Israel last week.
According to ABC News, the locals have described the Kibbutz as “Ground Zero” of Saturday’s assault, which has claimed more than 1,300 lives. "They massacred everybody here, 112 residents of this kibbutz were murdered. We can see just the level of the destruction of what happened here," Maj. Libby Weiss of the Israel Defence Forces told ABC News.
"People were asleep. They surprised them in their homes. Some were butchered in their beds," they further stated. The Hamas assault began last week on Saturday, when many of the residents were just waking up. The kibbutz was once known to be peaceful, with families and tidy houses.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian militant organisation Hamas announced on Friday that Israel's bombardment of the Gaza Strip had killed 13 hostages, including foreign nationals, who were being held by the group. As of now, there has been no official confirmation or response from Israeli authorities to these allegations, raising concerns about the deterioration of the situation in the region, news agency Associated Press (AP) reported.
Earlier in the day, Israel's military ordered 1 million Palestinians to flee northern Gaza and head south, an unprecedented order that applied to nearly half the population ahead of an expected ground invasion against Hamas, according to a report by the Associated Press.
The United Nations warned that such a large number of people fleeing would be disastrous. Hamas, which launched a shocking and brutal attack on Israel nearly a week ago and has fired thousands of rockets since, dismissed the attack as a ruse and urged residents to remain at home.
