New Delhi: At least two have been killed and many wounded in a suicide bombing outside police headquarters in the port city of Chabahar in restive southeastern Iran on Thursday. The suicide bomber detonated a car bomb outside the Chabahar police headquarters. India strongly condemned the terrorist attack.

India on Thursday strongly condemned the ‘despicable’ terrorist attack in Chabahar in Iran stating that there can be no justification for any act of terror. "We express our condolences to the government and the people of Iran and the families of the victims of this attack," the Ministry of External Affairs said.

"We wish a speedy recovery to those injured. The perpetrators behind this dastardly attack should be brought to justice expeditiously.  There can be no justification for any act of terror," an MEA statement said.

Two members of the police force were killed in the attack in the tense area of Chabahar which has long been a flashpoint with Baluchi separatists and Sunni Muslim extremists carrying out cross-border attacks targeting the Shiite authorities.

An earlier toll had reported four dead but later revised the toll to two.   As per reports, the explosion was strong enough and it broke the glass of many buildings nearby. Many passers-by were severely wounded in the attack.
