New York: More than a month after rolling out several visa restrictions including suspension of the H-1B work visas until the end of 2020, US President Donald Trump has relaxed some rules for H-1B visa holders. ALSO READ | Pakistan Man Publicly Thrashed, Arrested For Mocking Imran Khan Over Including Kashmir In New Map, Video Viral

As per the latest development, the Trump administration has allowed the H-1B visa holders to enter the United States if they are returning to the same jobs they had prior to the proclamation of the visa ban.

As quoted in several reports, the official advisory issued by the US State Department said that Travel by applicants seeking to resume ongoing employment in the United States in the same position with the same employer and visa classification. Such applicants will also be allowed to take their dependents (including spouse and children) along with them.

Moreover, the technical specialists at senior-level managerial positions or H-1B visa holders who can contribute to the US economy will also be allowed to travel to the US.

Providing some more relaxations in the rules, the administration said, public healthcare professionals or the people who are engaged in COVID-19 research work, or those involved in projects with a substantial public health benefits may also be allowed to enter US.

It can be recalled that the Trump administration on June 23 rolled out several visa restrictions including suspension of the H-1B work visas until the end of 2020 to protect American workers in a crucial election year.

The H-1B work visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows US companies to hire foreign nationals as employees in specialty occupations that require theoretical or technical expertise. On this it was observed that around 200 American workers were to lose their jobs over the next five years.
