Former Pakistan Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf chief Imran Khan before his arrest came down heavily on the Shahbaz Sharif-led government saying he was “ready to die than to live under these duffers.” In a video message prior to his appearance before Islamabad High Court, the PTI chief said, "I am ready to die than live under these duffers, the question is are you ready? There is no case on me. They want to put me in jail, I am ready for it.”

Earlier today, he hinted towards his arrest in an “illegitimate case”. “By the time you hear my words, I would be arrested in an illegitimate case,” Khan said in another video message, before the rangers arrested him from Islamabad High Court premises today. Khan was arrested in Al Qadir Trust graft case where he and his wife Bushra Bibi have been alleged that they obtained billions of rupees from a real estate firm for legalising Rs 50 billion.

Training guns against the current Shahbaz Sharif-led dispensation which ousted Khan as PM last year in April, the latter said that the fundamental rights and Constitution have been buried in Pakistan.

“What is being done today is not because I violated the law but because they want me to walk back on my movement for freedom in a real sense,” he said.

Terming the dispensation as “corrupt, thieves” he alleged that the “imported government which has been imposed on us wants that I accept them.”

He also appealed to the people to come out on streets to fight for their rights and freedom in the real sense.

“No community is served freedom on a plate,” he said.

“Freedom needs struggle and hard work and then Allah provides it as a gift to the people,” Khan added.

The former Pakistani premier, was arrested on Tuesday afternoon at the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in connection with the Al-Qadir Trust case. Khan had been present at the court for two hearings when the arrest took place. The circumstances surrounding his detention have raised questions and sparked intrigue among observers.
