New Delhi: Tesla CEO and billionaire Elon Musk, who recently put down $44 billion dollars to buy out Twitter, on Thursday suggested that his political stand over the years has shifted towards the right.

While the buyout has garnered a lot of interest and predictions on the future of Twitter, Musk tweeted a political cartoon originally created by Colin Wright without any context.

Tim Urban, a writer of the blog 'Wait But Why?', explained how certain liberals felt with the Democrats moving further to the Left extreme leaving some liberals out of place.

He wrote in one tweet, “So even though the left hasn't moved that far left (as is shown by voting results), the left is in a sense being held hostage by their extreme wing, making a lot of people who enthusiastically voted for Obama feel politically homeless today.”

Further explaining his stance, Elon replied to Tim Urban’s thread, "I strongly supported Obama for President, but today’s Democratic Party has been hijacked by extremists"

The thread saw a mixed reaction, while many recalled the January 6, Capitol Riots and right extremists waiting at the counting centres after the elections dissatisfied with the results many said Joe Biden failed as a President and how they are likely to vote for Trump in the next elections.

Some far-right people believe that the algorithm will be changed in favour of the conservative voices but that will be seen over time when Musk’s buyout is complete which will take months.

Colin Wright thanked the Tesla CEO for sharing the cartoon and then said that his work may be inaccurate in some contexts as it is just a political cartoon.
