New Delhi: The US President Donald Trump has been ordered by a court in California to pay $ 44,100 attorney fee to adult actress Stormy Daniels for the legal expenses she incurred to make her non-disclosure agreement void. According to a report by Associated Press, this order determined that she won her lawsuit against Trump over the non-disclosure agreement that was signed 11 days before the 2016 presidential election. As a part of that deal, the losing party would pay the lawyers fees.

Who is Stormy Daniels?

Stormy Daniels or Stephanie Clifford (legal name) is an adult film actress who received $130,000 for a non-disclosure agreement before the 2016 United States presidential election about her affair with Donald Trump in 2006. The payment was made by Trump’s personal lawyer at the time, Michael Cohen who later pleaded guilty of criminal charges in 2018. The report by AP says that Trump had denied the affair and the existence of an agreement before acknowledging it on Twitter in May 2018. Cohen also cleared that he was reimbursed by  Trump's organisation for the payment.

According to a report by the Washington Post in 2018, she filed a case asking the Los Angeles Superior Court to void the agreement which started a legal battle. In her lawsuit, she argued that the agreement was void since Trump did not personally sign it but had acknowledged the payment. But Trump's lawyers later agreed 'out of court not to enforce the agreement.'

Although the defamation suit was dismissed by the court, Daniels was declared as the prevailing party in dispute and she won the right to get her legal fees paid by Trump. After the court order, Daniels wrote in  Twitter.

Daniels continues to work in the adult entertainment industry. Media reports say that at present, she is working on her new venture “Spooky Babes Paranormal Show” where she leads a team of investigators to hunt ghosts and get answers for people here on Earth.
