Detroit police has said that it has found no evidence that suggests the murder of the president of a Jewish synagogue, Samantha Woll, was motivated by antisemitism. The Detroit police chief said that the law enforcement has not come across any substantial proof to establish Woll's death as an incident motivated by antisemitism. Woll, president of Isaac Agree Downtown, was found fatally stabbed outside of her home on Saturday, the report added.

"The investigation into the death of Ms. [Samantha] Woll remains ongoing. At this time, however, no evidence has surfaced suggesting that this crime was motivated by antisemitism," police chief James White says in a statement on X, formerly Twitter.

"Detroit Police Department investigators are working with the FBI to forensically analyze all of the information obtained up to this point in an effort to ascertain the timeline that ultimately led to Ms. Woll’s death," White further said, adding "Individuals with information that may further this investigation are being interviewed."

The police chief urged the community to remain patient while the investigators and law enforcement partners continue their work. "Everything that can be done to bring this matter to closure is being called into service," White added.

Woll's death has come amid the escalating war between the Jewish country Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas. Times of Israel reported that a public call by a former Hamas terror group leader for global protests against Jews led some Jewish institutions to close or fortify themselves in some areas, including Detroit, which is home to one of the largest Palestinian communities in the United States.

The Detroit synagogue had confirmed Woll's death in a Facebook post. "We are shocked and saddened to learn of the unexpected death of Samantha Woll, our Board President...at this point, we do not have more information but will share more when it becomes available," the statement said, as quoted by Times of Israel.
