New Delhi: Deceased former US President George H.W. Bush’s service dog is melting hearts on the internet as its picture with it lying next to the casket of his master is going viral.


Sully, a 2-year-old Labrador can be seen lying next to Bush’s casket draped with the American flag, with a gloomy expression on its face.

Son of George HW Bush and 43rd US President George W. Bush posted a picture of the dog on Instagram and informed that now Sully will be working at his new home Walter Reed, where he will be assisting the troops.

He wrote: “As much as our family is going to miss this dog, we're comforted to know he'll bring the same joy to his new home, Walter Reed, that be brought to 41.”

The dog will accompany Bush's casket on the flight to Washington, D.C, CNN reported.


Sully is a highly trained service dog who is named after retired pilot Chesley Sullenberger who is famous for his heroic act of saving 155 passengers averting a major aviation mishap. In the year, 2009 he successfully landed a US Airways Flight in the Hudson River after both engines were damaged by a bird strike.
