New Delhi: China has announced to evacuate its citizens from India who are facing "difficulties" in the country due to the increasing number of Coronavirus cases. Many of Chinese citizens that are in India include students, tourists and businessman who might want to return to China as India enters the list of top 10 worst hit nations by the novel coronavirus pandemic with 1,38,845 infections and 4,021 deaths.

For the repatriation of its citizens, the Chinese Embassy released a notice and few guidelines on its official website. The circular said that students, tourists and businessmen who have been stranded in India will be allowed to fly back to China on special flights.

The official notice mentioned the health conditions under which people would not be allowed to board the special evacuation flights. The notice read that the people opting to return home will have to accept all quarantine and epidemic prevention arrangements during the flight as well as after entering China.

"Those who have been diagnosed with or suspected to have Covid-19 or those who had fever and cough symptoms for 14 days not to take the flights," notice said.

It further said that people will have to bear the cost for the tickets and for their 14-day quarantine once they land in China.

"Through the unified arrangement of the ministry of foreign affairs and relevant departments, the Chinese diplomatic and consular missions in India will assist international students in India, tourists, temporary business visitors who have difficulties and are in urgent need to take a temporary flight back home to China," it added.

Incidentally, India was one of the first countries to launch a repatriation mission and evacuate its nationals, mainly students from Wuhan (the epicenter of the outbreak) and several other countries.
