London: As per several international media reports, the Xi Jinping government is committing atrocities against Uighur Muslims in China. The global community has voiced its concerns against the alleged atrocities by China frequently. Now the issue of atrocities of Uighur Muslims has been raised vociferously in Britain.

An influential group of lawmakers on Thursday said that the British government should support a political boycott of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing accusing the Chinese government of "genocide" of Uighur Muslims and other ethnic groups in northwestern Xinjiang province.

The foreign affairs committee, led by Conservative MP Tom Tugendhat, said: "The atrocities in Xinjiang represent an international crisis of profound urgency, and it is absolutely inappropriate for any civilized government to turn its back."

He has said that the massacre of Uighur Muslims in the Xinjiang province of China is a shameful act, on which all countries around the world should act very seriously and put pressure on China about it.

Tom Tugendhat said that China has a civilized cultural history of five thousand years, and the genocide of Uighurs and other minorities is a blot on it. He further said that the Chinese Communist Party must be apprised of the situation on the occasion of completing 100 years.
