New Delhi: In an out and out bizarre death, a Japanese man with 246 packets of cocaine in his stomach and intestines died in the middle of flight.
The 42-year-old man stuffed with packets of cocaine was traveling from Bogota to Tokyo. The plane had to make an emergency landing in northern Mexico after the incident.
As per reports in foreign media, the man started having a seizure after traveling from Colombian capital to Mexico city and catching a connecting flight to Japan.
The man has been identified only as Udo "Nā.
When the flight attendants noticed the person suffering from convulsion, they requested a permission to make emergency landing at Sonora at 2:25 am. The paramedics who boarded the plane declared the man dead.
Autopsy found that he had swallowed 246 packets of cocaine, each measuring one by 2.5 cms.
The cause of death was swelling of the brain caused by a drug overdose, said the statement.
