NEW DELHI: Azerbaijan Airlines, the flag carrier and largest airline of Azerbaijan on Friday launched its direct flight linking capital city Baku to New Delhi. With the launch of this flight, the airline has offered greater connectivity from India to Baku, which would save the time of its passengers.


Starting from June 26, 2019, the flight will be departing from Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport every Wednesday and Saturday.  It will reach Baku at Terminal 1 of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

Air tickets can be booked online through the offices of Azerbaijan Airlines' official agents. Tourist visa for Azerbaijan can be obtained online on http://evisa.gov.az/en. Moxie Hospitality India Pvt Ltd has been appointed as the General Sales Agent (GSA) for AZAL.

Jamil Manizade, Director of Azerbaijan Airlines, said: "India ranks very high in our list of priorities. With the launch of the direct route between Baku and New Delhi, we are confident that it would boost the flow of tourists to Azerbaijan. We expect flights to the country to double by October this year."

Azerbaijan is an Eastern country. Baku is known as the 'Pearl of the Caucasus', which combines history, culture and modernity.
