As part of Congress' Freedom Match in Karnataka, the Congress' state wing has put up posters with pictures of freedom fighters but miscreants on Saturday vandalised a poster featuring Tipu Sultan at Bengaluru's Hudson Circle. After visiting the spot, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President, DK Shivakumar, said that miscreants are not able to digest the Congress' Freedom March.
"Someone is trying to create disturbance in the state. They are not able to digest Congress' Freedom March," news agency ANI said quoting Shivakumar, who visited the spot at Hudson Circle on Saturday.
Responding to Congress' allegations, Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra said, "We don't have information about who tore the posters, police are investigating it."

Earlier, DK Shivakumar claimed that over 45,000 people have registered online to take part in Congress' freedom march which is scheduled to be held on Independence Day in Bengaluru.
He further said that the march is being organised to commemorate freedom fighters of India and Karnataka. The march is scheduled to commence from Sangolli Rayanna Circle and it will end at National College Grounds.
"It's our sincere efforts to pay tributes to the freedom fighters through the march," Shivakumar said as quoted by The Hindu.
Earlier in May, the Karnataka government excluded 'unverifiable claims' regarding Tipu Sultan from Class X Social Science textbooks. Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister, BC Nagesh, while clarifying said that unverifiable claims regarding TIpu Sultan have been removed from the textbooks and mentions of Maharaja of Mysore has been added to the syllabus.
