New Delhi: After recording 45,000 Covid cases for two days on Thursday and Saturday, Kerala once again took centre stage for contributing a huge chunk of cases single-day cases in the country. With Karnataka and Kerala recording more than 45,000 cases per day, the states collectively have been reporting nearly 1 lakh cases per day with the country's Covid tally crossing the 3 lakh mark.
In this context, Kerala Health Minister Veena George on Monday said that the state is all set to face the challenges. "We're fully set to meet the challenges, have enough oxygen beds, medicines. We're also recruiting health care workers as many health care workers are getting infected in hospitals. COVID cases are increasing but hospitalization numbers are less," Veena George told ANI.

On Sunday, the health department said in a bulletin that 1,01,252 samples were tested in the 24 hours and there were over 2.64 active cases in the state, reports NDTV.
"Currently, only 3.5 per cent of the active COVID-19 patients are admitted to hospitals," the department said in the release as quoted by NDTV.
Meanwhile, the health department has informed that 100 per cent of the state's population has been inoculated while 83 per cent of the total population in the state has been vaccinated with the second dose as well.
