WATCH: Homeless Dumped In The Outskirts Of Indore City, Two Municipal Workers Suspended

In a horrific video that has gone viral, municipal workers dump elderly homeless people who were probably gathered from within the city, by the side of a highway on the city's outskirts.

New Delhi: In a serious of tragic events a video went viral of a team of municipal workers in Indore were seen trying to dump elderly homeless people in the outskirt of the city. They were probably gathered from around the city. Indore has been called India's "cleanest city" for four consecutive years by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The Municipal workers were later forced to bring them back after villagers in the Kshipra area protested the government's apparent move to leave them on the highway during the freezing winter.

 

In the video shot by locals, one can see a frail old woman who is barely able to sit upright helped by a man while the villagers argue with the municipal workers. A man can be heard explaining the incident, stating municipal workers dumped them to the side of the road after brigining them in a truck and threw their belongings to the side. 
According to a NDTV report, Abhay Rajangaonkar, the Indore Municipal Corporation's Additional Commissioner said the municipal workers were taking the homeless people to a night shelte and denied allegations of dumping them to outskirts of the city.

Meanwhile, UP Congress general secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, shared one of the videos on Twitter Saturday morning with the caption "This incident of Indore, MP is a stigma on humanity. The government and administration should apologize to these destitute people and action should be taken not on the small staff enforcing the order but on the higher officials who placed the order."
