New Delhi: In a horrific footage shared online, a rashly driven SUV ran over a pedestrian and immediately drove away. Footage captured by CCTV camera shows a red car speeding towards the pedestrian, running the vehicle over the person, and immediately driving away.
The incident took place earlier this morning in Central Delhi’s Janpath area, reports news agency PTI.

The 39-year-old pedestrian was identified by the police as Girdhari who worked as a mason.
Girdhari was shifted to RML hospital where he was declared brought dead, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Amrutha Guguloth said, quoted PTI.
A case under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the the Indian Penal Code has been being registered, the DCP added.
The accused driver did not stop and absconded from the spot. The search for accused continues, said the Delhi Police.

Recently, a car and an autorikshaw had met a collision at Baba Singh Banda Singh Bahadur Flyover leaving two persons dead.The accused car driver had fled from the spot after the incident. In this incident, three to four passengers in the auto were also injured. While a woman and a child were seriously injured and the child had died on being taken to the hospital.
Following the incident, the police had registered a case and had arrested a third year college student as accused in the incident.
