To know the truth of this picture ABP News went Allahabad. We found that in the scorching heat of UP’s Allahabad 63-year-old Veena rides an e-rickshaw with full energy.
You will be shocked to know that Veena Pani holds a masters degree in Geography and before riding an e-rickshaw she was doing a job in private company. But after retirement she does not want to become a burden on anyone.
Veena while talking to ABP News said, “I am doing this for my livelihood. My pension amount is Rs 734 only which is very less. I ride the rickshaw for four hours in morning and four hours in evening and earn Rs 300-400 a day ”
Veena calls herself a sumo ‘Pehalwan’ of Japan who does not get tired of anything.
Three years ago, Veena was working as a supervisor in Uptron television factory, and earned livelihood for her unemployed husband and three sons. The woman thought after retirement she would give all her time to the family but as soon as she retired, her family members tried to avoid her.
After few days, Veena’s sons left her and then drunkard husband forced her to leave the house. ‘Compelled’ Veena came to her sister’s place but within few days her sister’s husband died.
After that tragedy, Veena decided to run an e-rickshaw for her living . People in Allahabad were left shocked when they saw old woman pulling rickshaw. 63-year-old Veena is an epitome for people.
