New Delhi: Vikassheel Insaaf Party chief and state Minister for Animal Husbandry and fisheries, Mukesh Sahani has been ousted from the Bihar cabinet on Monday. Sahni’s dismissal comes after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar wrote to the Governor Phagu Chauhan on Sunday regarding the same.

Meanwhile, Sahani said that in his sixteen month ministerial stint, he “gave impetus to some decisive work” in animal husbandry and fisheries sector in the state and thanked CM Nitish Kumar and NDA for giving him the opportunity.

Taking to Twitter, the VIP chief wrote, “During my ministerial tenure of sixteen months, I tried to serve thirteen crore people of the state, working for people of all caste religions. Gave impetus to some decisive work in the animal husbandry and fisheries sector for the future of Bihar.”

“Thanks to all the people of Bihar, NDA allies, and Honourable Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar ji for giving me this opportunity. I am dedicated to the fight for SC/ST reservation to Nishad society, increasing the reservation of the backward community by 15% and respect and overall development of Bihar and Biharis,” he wrote in another tweet.

VIP MLA Switched Parties

Sahni had recently faced a setback when three of his MLAs joined BJP and another switched to RJD.

Raju Singh, Mishri Lal, and Savarna Singh — the only elected three MLAs that VIP had in Bihar Assembly along with MLC Sahni himself had joined the BJP on March 23.

Earlier, another party member Amar Paswan, who was a proposed candidate from the party for Bochahan seat bypoll, had switched to Rashtriya Janata Dal hours before Vikassheel Insaaf Party was to announce his candidature.
