New Delhi: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath undertook an aerial survey of the ongoing Kanwar Yatra and showered petals on Kanwariyas at many places in West UP on Monday with a helicopter, said an official spokesperson as reported by news agency PTI. Yogi had already instructed the administrative officers to shower flowers on the Kanwariyas by helicopter and monitor the Kanwar Yatra. As per a report from Baghpat, Shiva devotees were accorded a grand welcome by the chief minister and district officials.


The CM's helicopter arrived at the Siddhpeeth Parshurameshwar Puramahadev temple in Baghpat in the early evening and made four rounds of the temple complex. Flowers were showered on the Kanwariyas from the helicopter in the midst of chants of "Har Har Mahadev".






A tweet by the CM's Office said Adityanath investigated the plans made for the smooth movement of Shiva devotees and coordinated authorities that the lovers and others shouldn't confront any difficulty during the yatra.

This is the first time after the Coronavirus pandemic, that Kanwar Yatra is being organised in the state. There is an influx of Shiva devotees on the streets. The main roads of the decorated cities are lit up with colorful lights to welcome Shiva devotees. Kanwar Seva Camps have been set up at various places.


On July 18, while fixing the responsibility and accountability of senior police and administrative officers posted in the districts through video conferencing, Yogi had directed that health checkpoints should be set up at various places along the Kanwar Yatra route and any religious procession or procession should be done.
