Chennai: In a span of two days, the DMK-ruled government in Tamil Nadu swapped the posts of two senior IAS officers — D Karthikeyan and Dheeraj Kumar. Karthikeyan was posted as Secretary to the Highways and Minor Ports Department while Dheeraj Kumar was appointed as Higher Education Secretary. However, last night, in yet another bureaucratic reshuffle, the government interchanged their posts.

The newly formed DMK government is sparing no stone unturned to make its governance appear clean and transparent.

The state reshuffled IAS officer Karthikeyan following external pressure to transfer him as he faces allegations of corruption in a Chennai Corporation tenders case.

It was alleged by the contractors that there was corruption and lack of transparency in the process in Karthikeyan’s tenure in Chennai Corporation. Apparently, Chief Minister MK Stalin had written a letter demanding an investigation into the allegations of corruption in the allotment of tenders worth ₹ 740 crores when he was the leader of the opposition party.
