Tata’s two pocket rockets, the Tiago and Tigor JTP, will be getting some new features. As a result, their prices will increase by a slight margin. The updated cars may go on sale as soon as August 4.

There’s only one feature addition outside: the power-folding ORVMs. The updates are more significant inside, headlined by the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that takes the place of the older 5-inch unit. Already available on the XZ+ variant of the two cars, this unit gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. In addition, the Tiago JTP now gets automatic climate control, a feature that the Tigor JTP already has.

There are no changes to the safety features and the two cars are still equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking camera with sensors, front fog lamps, follow me home headlamps and corner stability control.

Since there are no mechanical updates, the two go-fast Tatas retain their 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged Revotron petrol engine that delivers 114PS of power and 150Nm. A 5-speed MT is standard and the 0-100kmph time is rated at around 10 seconds.

Tata might ask for a slight premium for the two cars post this upgrade. Currently, the Tiago JTP retails for Rs 6.39 lakh and the Tigor JTP for 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
