Tata’s upcoming premium hatchback, the Altroz, is expected to be unveiled in its final production guise in July. It has been spied several times before and now, a new set of teaser images reveal a few interesting details of the Altroz’s design.

The exterior shots show bits of the front three-quarters, including the sleek projector headlights, blacked out-roof, black ORVMs, turn indicators on the front fenders as well as the dual-tone alloy wheels. Even the windowline is blacked out. One of the four images give us our first look at the final version of the Altroz’ interiors, seen here in dual-tone black and grey theme. The final design is likely to look similar to the pre-production model that debuted at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.

Tata is expected to offer the Altroz with three engines options - two petrols and one diesel. The petrol options have already been confirmed to be 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engines. One will be turbocharged with an output of 102PS and 140Nm, while the other will be the same naturally-aspirated petrol unit offered in the Tiago. However, it’s performance numbers are yet to be revealed. The diesel Altroz will borrow the 1.5-litre unit from the Nexon but in a different state of tune.

The Altroz is expected to be available with both manual and AMT options with both petrol and diesel engines. This premium hatchback is built on Tata’s new ALFA ARC modular platform which is expected to underpin future models as well.

The Altroz is expected to get features such as auto AC, rear AC vents, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, LED DRLS and cruise control, amongst others. It will compete against the likes of the Hyundai Elite i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo and the Toyota Glanza. Tata is expected to price the Altroz between Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 8.5 lakh.
