Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin today said that his government will pass resolutions against the Central Government’s farm laws and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) during the state assembly.
"We will pass resolutions against the Centre’s farm laws and Citizenship (Amendment) Act in the budget session of the State Assembly," TN CM said.
Notably, Stalin had raised the issue before Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Delhi on June 17 and urged PM to repeal CAA, farm laws, and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) while discussing on several other issues.
Today morning, writing to the Chief Ministers of the coastal states of Gujrat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, and Union Territory Puducherry, MK Stalin urged the CMs to show their objections against the Centre's Draft Port Bill 2021 stating that it dilutes the powers vested with the states.
“I propose that all the coastal states and Union Territories should express their objection to this new draft Indian Ports Bill 2021 and take joint action to prevent any move to dilute the powers already vested with the states. I also request that all our state governments must communicate these comments on similar lines, opposing the above bill during the MSDC Meeting on June 24 2021,” Stalin added.
