Suzuki has launched its first-ever maxi-styled scooter for the Indian market, the Burgman Street at a price of Rs 68,000. First showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, the Burgman Street competes against the Honda Grazia, which costs Rs 63,448 (Disc), and the TVS NTorq, which is priced at Rs 59,650 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). So what do you get for this premium pricing? For starters, the Burgan Street shares its design with the larger, Euro-spec Burgman 650. This includes an imposing front apron and the bulbous design, which gives it the appearance of a maxi scooter. As expected, it packs a generous 21.5-litres of underseat storage too.
In terms of features, the Burgman Street packs LED headlamps, a multi-function key slot, a 12V charging socket and an LED tail lamp. You also get a fully digital instrument cluster derived from the Suzuki Gixxer.
Powering the Burgman Street is the same 124.3cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder motor seen on the Access 125. This engine churns out 8.7PS of power and 10.2Nm of torque. Suzuki claims that the Burgman Street a mileage of 53.5kmpl. However, the rest of the underpinnings are quite premium for its class, including a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock unit at the back. Braking is taken care of by a disc brake at the front and a drum unit at the rear along with Suzuki's Combined Braking System (CBS).
