New Delhi: An adventure tourer version of the much-awaited BMW G 310 R has been spied in Europe. The BMW didn’t have it camouflaged at all, when the spy shots were taken. The adventure tourer is likely to get the moniker the BMW G 310 GS.

Expected to make an official debut at the EICMA 2016 motorcycle show, the BMW G 310 GS is likely to possess adventure tourer and mild off-road capabilities. This tourer is also likely to launch in India.

Besides the G 310 GS, the BMW Motorrad is expected to launch its whole range of motorcycles in India. The BMW G 310 GS will be developed in Germany, while, with the TVS-BMW Motorrad alliance, it will be produced at the TVS’s Hosur plant in India.

The joint venture has already been producing the BMW G 310 R with the BMW badge and the TVS Akula 300 for the TVS, almost with similar powertrains, specifications and equipment. The GS, however, will come up with a different tune to make the motorcycle an adventure tourer.

The BMW G 310 R will come powered by a liquid-cooled, 313 cc motor that makes 34 bhp of power and 28 Nm of torque. The naked bike will be of this specification, while the adventure tourer will vary in its power output.

The tourer version also displays quite a few off-roading traits with its off-road tyres, front fairing, long suspension, etc. They do take after the adventure tourers of the BMW, which boast of higher displacement. The BMW G 310 GS has also intrigued tourer enthusiasts with the release of their spy pics.
