Kannauj: In a bizarre case, six members of a family in Uttar Pradesh had to be admitted in a hospital after  they consumed a sabzi with Ganja leaves, mistaking them for fenugreek or methi. Also Read: 28 Ministers Take Oath In Shivraj Singh Chouhan's Madhya Pradesh Government

The family was made to believe that the packet of cannabis leaves was methi or fenugreek. After the members consumed the dish they complained of dizziness and feeling sick, according to the Indian Express report which quoted a local media report.

A person names Naval Kishore gave a packet of dried cannabis leaves to Nitesh, a fellow resident of the Miyaganj village, and told him it was fenugreek. The man gave it to his family member who cooked the leaves with potato to prepare a dish of aloo-methi.

However, the family members started to complain of dizziness and took neighbours’ help to get a doctor. In fact, a few family members even lost consciousness. The police were alerted and the family was taken to a hospital.

Due to excessive consumption of cannabis your heart rate becomes faster putting older people at risk of a heart attack. It can also lead to anxiety and extreme psychotic reactions.

The police also found the cannabis leaves and the dish that the family had consumed in their house. Later the man who sold the leaves was detained and as per the reports, he said it was a prank.

Meanwhile, the news has gone viral in social media evincing interests among users so much so that the former UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav considering the political scene in the state, took an indirect jibe at present CM Yogi Adityanath saying,  there are chances that a decree can come anytime naming 'Ganja to Methi.
