New Delhi: Several people have been hit by gunshots at a shopping mall in the capital Denmark in Copenhagen on Sunday, said Danish police as reported by the news agency AFP. One person has been arrested in connection with the shooting that took place at the Field's shopping center, one of the largest shopping centers in Scandinavia.
The city's police tweeted that "shots have been fired and several people have been hit" at the Field's mall. "We are present in large numbers," they said.
"One person has been arrested in connection with the shooting," Copenhagen Police tweeted. "We have a large presence in the field and are working to get an overview. We will update here as soon as possible," the official added in a tweet.
“If you have seen, heard or filmed anything, contact the police at Fields or call 114,” they said.

"We do not yet know for sure how many are injured or dead, but it is very serious," Lord Mayor of Copenhagen, Sophie Haestorp Andersen, said in a post on Facebook.
Danish media quoted eyewitnesses as saying that when the first gunshot was heard, more than 100 people rushed to exit the mall.
The police have urged those trapped in the building to wait for their arrival. Along with this, other people have been asked to stay away from the area.
