New Delhi: The Ambassador of Ukraine to India Igor Polikha on Tuesday said the Russian invasion of Ukraine was like the massacre arranged by Mughals against Rajputs.


Polikha also urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and world leaders to use every resource against Putin to stop bombing and shelling.


"It's like the massacre arranged by Mughals against Rajputs. We are asking every time all influential world leaders, among them Modi Ji, to use every resource against Putin to stop bombing and shelling," said Igor Polikha as reported by news agency ANI.






As the tension between the two countries escalates, the Ambassador of Ukraine to India has expressed his grief on the death of Indian student Naveen Shekharappa who was killed in shelling in Kharkiv.

"I extend my deepest condolences on the death of Indian student Naveen Shekharappa who was killed in shelling in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Earlier shelling and bombings happened on military sites but now also happening in the civil areas: Dr Igor Polikha, Ambassador of Ukraine to India," said Polikha.






Meanwhile, Polikha also heaped his praise on India for the Humanitarian aid to conflict-ridden Ukraine.


"We discussed the modalities of Humanitarian aid. We are grateful to India for starting this aid. The first plane is expected to land in Poland today. I was assured by Foreign Secy that Ukraine will get maximum humanitarian aid," added Polikha.






Amid the ongoing conflict, India has decided to send humanitarian assistance including medicines to Ukraine, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a press briefing on Monday.


"India will provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine including medicines. However, no more details are yet available," said MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi.
