New Delhi: The Ministry of Defense of the UK on Sunday said that Russian forces are continuing to encircle a number of cities across eastern Ukraine as the war between the two-nation rages.
"Russian forces are continuing to encircle a number of cities across eastern Ukraine... Russia has increased its indiscriminate shelling of urban areas resulting in widespread destruction and large numbers of civilian casualties," said the ministry.
Meanwhile, the indiscriminate airstrikes and bombardment are resulting in widespread destruction in other cities especially Kharkiv in the east.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Russian forces are besieging major cities which would go down in history for what he said were war crimes committed by Russian troops.
“To do this to a peaceful city, what the occupiers did, is a terror that will be remembered for centuries to come,” Zelenskyy said in a video address to the nation.
According to The Kyiv Independent, 115 children have been killed since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. There are more than 140 injured as quoted by ANI.
On the 25th day of the war, Russia has become even more aggressive. According to local officials in Mariupol, the Russian military has dropped a bomb on a school as quoted by Reuters. About 400 people had taken shelter in this school.
There was no immediate word of casualties from the Saturday attack, although the council said the building was destroyed and there were victims under the rubble.
Consensus can be reached today on seven humanitarian corridors to evacuate people from war-torn areas. According to the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Irina Tereshchuk, seven corridors could be built in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk Oblast.
