In light of the recent developments in the Renuka Swamy murder case, Former Karnataka Chief Minister and newly elected BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai has emphasised the importance of a thorough and impartial investigation. Bommai's comments come amid allegations involving Kannada film actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his second wife Pavithra Gowda, who have been accused alongside others in the murder.

Speaking to the press, Bommai stated, "No one must behave in such an inhumane manner. Those in power or a celebrity, none have special privileges. All are equal before the law. Taking the law into one's hands is a crime."

"This was a serious offence, and the investigation into the alleged role of Kannada film actor Darshan Tugudeepa in this case must be probed. The same vigour and integrity must be maintained throughout the investigation. Only then will the guilty can be punished," he said.
