Renault has revealed the Triber, its new sub-4 metre offering that can seat seven. It is expected to be launched in India in the second half of 2019 and is uniquely positioned. The Triber is smaller than the Ertiga, but bigger than the Swift and other similar hatchbacks that it will be priced against.

There is another seven-seater in the sub-4 metre space, however the Triber is a more premium offering. All in all, the Triber does not have any true rival in India.

Here are the specifications of the new Renault Triber MPV crossover:

On the inside, the Triber gets a two-tone colour scheme (beige and black). Equipment list features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system which will eclipse anything else in the sub-Rs 6 lakh segment, if the Triber is priced in that bracket. Safety features will include ABS and EBD and the top variant will get four airbags.

The second row of the Triber has a 60:40 split and the third row features a 50:50 split. Both rows get adjustable headrests for two passengers. Air-con vents for the second and third row passengers are also on offer. With the third row removed, the Triber can accommodate 625 litres of cargo.

The Triber’s engine is a 1.0-litre petrol unit that makes 72PS. It will be on offer with both, a manual and an AMT transmission. Renault has said that the Triber’s ground clearance will stand at 182mm. It is expected to be launched in the second half of 2019.
