While the natural rivals of the Renault Triber still aren’t clearly defined, it will go up against hatchbacks like the Hyundai Grand i10, Ford Figo and Maruti Swift. So how does the Triber, with its expected price range of Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 7 lakh, fare against these hatchbacks?

Longest: Renault Triber

Widest: Renault Triber

Tallest: Renault Triber

Longest Wheelbase: Renault Triber

Highest Boot Space: Renault Triber

The Renault Triber is clearly the biggest in all aspects. The usual boot space of the Triber isn’t impressive, but turn it into a five seater like all the other cars in this test and it turns the competition up on its head with a huge 625-litre boot. Essentially, the third row is useful not just for accommodating additional passengers, but luggage as well. On top of that, the Triber can be turned into a 2-, 4-, 6- or even a 7-seater.

Engine Specifications

Most Powerful: Ford Figo

Torquiest: Ford Figo

Most Frugal: Maruti Swift

The Renault Triber, with its smallest engine, offers the lowest power and torque output, which raises questions about its ability to haul a full load of passengers properly. Just like the Swift, the Triber also gets a 5-speed manual along with a 5-speed AMT option. The mileage figures for the Triber are almost on par with the Swift and the Figo.

Features

The Renault Triber’s pretty well loaded with features like projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, tilt adjustable steering wheel and dedicated AC vents for all three rows. That said, it skimps on fog lamps, steering-integrated controls, auto climate control, passive keyless entry and height-adjustable driver’s seat, which are available on its rivals.

Safety Equipment

The standard safety kit on the Triber will include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors, while the higher variants will offer a front side airbag and rear parking camera. The Triber might be ahead of the Swift and Grand i10, packing two extra airbags but it is the Ford Figo that trumps them all with six airbags on the top variant.
