New Delhi: In view of the increasing cases of Covid-19, the Railways has issued a new SOP on Monday, according to which now it will be mandatory for passengers to wear masks on train and railway premises. The Railways has decided to implement the Covid-19 protocol again in trains in view of the knocking of the fourth wave of coronavirus infection in different states of the country and increasing cases. Under this, passengers will now be required to wear masks while traveling on the station platform and on the train. 


Initially, the Railways has appealed to the passengers for cooperation, but if the rate of infection increases, then these rules will be strictly followed, under which a fine will be imposed on the passengers for not following protocols.


At present, in order to curb the increasing infection and to keep the passengers safe on the Railways, the Railway Administration has appealed to the passengers to wear masks and follow safe physical distance while traveling on the platform and train.

According to the information released by the Railways, in the order of the instructions issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, under the updated Standard Operating Protocol issued by the Ministry of Railways, if the passengers are going to travel by train or going to the railway station, then they have to wear a mask.


Passengers have also been advised to follow the instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the concerned state regarding Covid prescribed for their destination station so that the rate of infection can be controlled. If the passengers do not cooperate in this, then further action will be taken by the Railways.
